What a wonderful Morning. The sun is shining- birds chirping- and enjoying a relaxing cup of raspberry chamomile green tea! More than 1/2 way done with a new book about Leonardo Davinci- fascinating to say the least, and very informative.
One aspect I really enjoy about this book is the information pertaining to human brainwaves. Food for thought: Our brains function on four levels; Alpha, Beta, Theta, and Delta.
Beta- has the highest activity of EEG(electrical voltage). It is for mental alertness, hand-eye coordination, intense concentration, but also increased stress and anxiety- this is for when the pressure is on and action/thoughts are needed quickly.
Alpha- is the level below Beta in EEG(7-12hz) coming into resonance with the Earth's electromagnetic field of 7.8 and being the most ideal state. It is a calm, creative, harmonic, and aware state often of peace and wellness, allowing you to tap into your creativity and inner stillness.
Theta- is the level below Alpha in EEG(4-8hz). This is the memory, daydream, & a deep meditation state right before and/or after sleep. The "realm of the subconcious."
& lastly Delta- which is 0-4hz. It is the deep sleep part of your REM cycle- ideal for healing and detached awareness. This state also triggers the Human Growth Hormone, which is ideal for healing and physical regeneration. (Hence one reason why sleep is so important.)
This brainwave information is actually quite interesting when you look further into it and it allows you to realize a whole different level of yourself and where you are functioning. THIS INFO. ALSO GOT ME OFF MY COFFEE ADDICTION. I learned that TOO MUCH CAFFEINE- sends you into HIGH BETA MODE, where you are in constant stress and only able to produce long bouts of steady uncreative work. It skips Alpha and Theta and often wears you out to the point of Delta(exhaustion/sleep) and you never get a chance to unwind, relax, and be at peace with yourself.
ALTERNATIVE: GREEN TEA- although I was already drinking one to two glasses a day, I have now increased it, as I learned- (also from this book) that Green Tea contains THEANINE, which is an amino acid that:
has a calming yet alert affect, increases alpha brain waves and the ability to learn/remember, decreases worry and anxiety/stress, increases concentration and focuses thoughts- and lastly it INCREASES LEVELS OF DOPAMINE- AND GABA- (brainchemical for calming):::: which will put you in a BETTER MOOD NATURALLY!
Well, I am off to continue my morning- get some exercise & do some intense breathing and stretching!
