So this year for Christmas I decided to volunteer. Since I was going to be home and my Brother is in Buffalo, I wanted to find an organization to volunteer with. I searched on GOOGLE and found that the Christ Methodist Church on Bay Street in Glens Falls was having their 3rd annual Community Christmas Breakfast. I contacted the man in charge and signed up and when my Mom found out what I was doing she asked if her and her boyfriend could join me and I gladly said yes! So we all served a little under 200 community members breakfast on Christmas morning. I really enjoyed this Christmas and will surely remember the impact of seeing the community members and their enjoyment from a nice meal.
I am very excited to go to Florida. I cannot wait to see my Grandparents and go on excursions and see Mish and write a lot of poetry!! I went to Barnes and Noble and prepared myself by buying 6 new books! I am so eager to be down in the sun. My bags are packed and I think I seriously packed at least 5 types of sunscreen! 8-) Also a friend of mine from college who now lives an hour and a half a way from the Everglades got a hold of me and wants to meet up, so that will be fun too, I haven't seen her in 3 years.
Before I leave on the 6th, I will be spending New Years Eve back at college. A lot of my friends are going back for it and so is my boyfriend, so I am pumped and my Christmas present to myself was a new dress, Calvin Klein size 4!!! Which I will be wearing on NYE and will also work as a work outfit later in life, seeing as it is very classy! I am sooo excited and appreciative to have this break between a real job and school. Although I have been applying so we will see.
I have been researching doing another mentoring, communication, youth leadership program before finding my job, and that is room and board paid and also a check at the end of 5K for tuition re-payment. I will figure it out more in-depth over the next few weeks and update everyone.
I hope that everyone's holidays were as special and memorable as mine or more, and that everyone is in good health and at peace. Thank you to every special person in my life, you mean a lot to me, each and every one of you, and I do not know what I would do without you.
Love Always,
Amy Lynn
